Under Watchful Eyes - We can easily think of the act of seeing and of being seen as perfectly normal, even banal to the point of harmlessness. Of course, none of us will pass unnoticed, and we must not only use our eyes, but also our imagination, to view the world, aware that at any moment we venture close to treasures, and to dangers. Through poetry, Mark Schardine playfully navigates through dark topics to shed humor and light to compromising situations.

Charm Elegance & Intrigue - Reminiscent of romantic Victorian poetry, Mark Schardine's collection is filled with intimate snapshots of relationships. Small exchanges that are normally unseen, are revealed by Mark's quick insight. Composed entirely in the Japanese form of tanka, Charm, Elegance, and Intrigue can bring into sharp focus a moment that gives joy, one that leads to sorrow, or one that becomes an instant memory.
